I was sad to learn that Eric had passed away but contrary to reports that he had passed in 2020 in reality it was a few years later because we were friends and communicated via social media. There's an old saying that you never get out of this life alive, but they never told me that I would get this old so fast gain so much only to lose it all along the way. RIP Eric, you fought the good fight. ❤️

Oh no. I've been in touch with Eric from time to time over the last few years. As often happens between friends the communications just get fewer and fewer, breaks just occur.  He was a very good person, among the greatest friend of animals I've ever known. I remember when his cat died, he was so devastated, I'm not sure he ever got over its passing. Eric is finally at peace, out of pain, and  for that, and his Friendship, I am grateful.

I'm very sorry to hear of Eric passing. We lived a block away from each other and would get together to visit Lee St Beach go to baseball games (he would try and convert me to being a Cub Fan), talk sports and music. Eric always had a good sense of humor and was fun to be around. Thanks for your friendship Eric.Rest in peace

Eric passed away in San Diego on May 3, 2024 from MDS, a blood cancer disease. We were friends for 55 years. The last time I spoke with him in April, he said "It's been quite a ride". He was a good soul and loved his friends in Evanston and Lee Street beach.
