Bob Lieberman was one of my only close friends at ETHS. His home and family were a refuge for me during some very difficult years. He was generous, perceptive, and often very funny. I can see from his social media that these qualities endured throughout his life.
Bob, you were the best! Perhaps it was because of your obsession for photography that you saw the world a little differently: positively, seeking to explain or document for those of us who weren’t around to experience it. Your work on the high school newspaper made it great (true photojournalism before I knew the term!) , and working alongside you on the Evanstonian was fun and insightful. I wish I would have kept up our friendship, I bet you had a magnificent life. Rest in peace my friend.
