Sorry for your loss.

Murat and I were friends back in high school. His family lived in apartment near Lee Street and Judson Ave in Evanston. I remember he played violin. I don't remember if he was in orchestra or anything. ETHS was very big high school, so competition was fierce for anything that involved tryouts or auditions.

High School was a crazy, challenging time. So much chaos and change in the world in the late 60's and early 70's. Murat, myself, and a few other friends used to hang out a lot. A few of us who lived in the same area in Southeast Evanston would walk home from school sometimes. Summer break from school would often find us at Lee Street beach which was only a few blocks east of where he lived. His dark hair and olive complexion giving him a nice start on that summer tan we all sought.

I believe his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona and he went to university there. I don't remember if he finished or not. I visited him once there. He had an apartment with roommates. I ended up in California, and lost touch with most people I knew in high school.

I'm glad to see that he had family, friends and God in his life.

Again, my condolences.

May your memories comfort your heart.

I remember Murat from orchestra. Cadet orchestra and also concert orchestra. I always sat next to him and I always try to challenge him to change seats. But it never worked out. When I read about his death it really shocked me and hurt. Because I was just thinking about him the other day when they show pictures from Nichols Middle School class of 1967. I notified two people who knew him about his death and it was a shock to both of them. I was looking forward to seeing him at the reunion but he will always be in my memory. It's easy for people to say be strong but I understand very well I too am a widow and there's just something that you feel is missing from your life. But you had wonderful memories of him and that's the important thing. God bless you and may he keep you and your family in his arms.

Hello, Noreen:

I also remember Murat from orchestra.  He was quiet and sweet.  I am glad to hear he had a good life.  Very sorry to hear of his passing.

My condolences to you,
